PST-7000 series user’s manual – BRIEF INTRODUCTION

POWER ON/OFF CONTROL

The PST7000 terminal implements electronic power control, such that the

main power to the system may be controlled by five methods:

1. Front mounted external power ON switch

2. Internal power ON/OFF push switch

3. Software OFF switch

4. Preset power ON control

5. Emergency power OFF

Switching from OFF to ON requires a normal supply of the AC power.

External Power On Switch

This button is located on the lower right hand front edge of the keyboard and

can be used to turn on the system only. That means, when this switch is accidentally

pressed during system turned on, the system just remains on and not affected.

This switch can also be programmed to an ON/OFF switch (with default as

ON only) through software command.

Power On/Off Push Switch

This is the switch behind the front door. This switch is a simple momentary

action switch, which activates a toggle action in the electronics of the power supply

circuits. Its function is to toggle the power supply on and off. If the terminal is

powered off, then pressing the button simply powers on the unit. If the unit is powered

on then pressing the button will power off the terminal.

Note: Powering off the unit in this way is instantaneous and must be undertaken

with care to prevent any loss of data.

Software Off Switch

The system may also be shut down under software control, details of which are

beyond the scope of this user manual - for more details contact your dealers.

However, it is the most recommended way to turn off the PST7000 series. Because

the application program can then be able to control and secure against any possibility

of data loss.
